Ugo causes international uprising in Asia and Europe :-) :"I couldn't stand to see Germany win ;-).". Now I am glad he wrote "Germany" and not "England". Even living in Germany for over 20 years - I still support England when they play (of course). And we're heading for the final - move over Brazil!

Bluetooth grows past its teething stage - Tech News - CNET.com
"It is also evidence that Bluetooth is now on a collision course with rival short-range wireless technology 802.11, also called wireless LAN or Wi-Fi, which has taken a lead in the United States but which also has security disadvantages that make companies like Deutsche Bank look at alternatives such as Bluetooth".

Ugo is upset. I did not see the match live - and only saw the highlights yesterday evening. In today's high $ football (soccer) it does seem out of place to only have 1 person calling the shots - when most other sports have at least 2. To me this would seem to be the easiest solution - have 2 referees. That being said - the referee doesn't get to see the slow motion and so decides as "he sees it" - which can often be wrong. And all football players are professionals - so they know what to expect.

Toshiba e740
I was looking at getting one of these Pocket PC gadgets. Nice is that it already has Wireless built in. Toshiba officially released the e740 yesterday. However they have already been available in the US for a couple of weeks. For the last week discussion boards have been the only source of information - well before any Toshiba announcement. What does that tell you?

Getting there
I have just completed writing some stuff for inside the front and back covers. We have sent some pics of ourselves that may end up in the book (unless they break the layout-system :-)). And there are lots of reviews in - none of which we've read yet. Some of them will also make their way into the book. So, we seem to be slowly getting there.

"It's a great time to get out," said music veteran Irving Azoff, who co-manages the Backstreet Boys. "The record business as we know it has undergone radical changes."
Music-industry sales have been in a slump. In 2001, total U.S. album sales dropped for the first time in at least a decade. This year is looking no better. Since the beginning of 2002, total music sales in the U.S. have fallen 12.1% from a year earlier, according to SoundScan, an industry tracking firm. [John Robb's Radio Weblog]
