Portal 2.0 - Google opens the door

The Google personalized Homepage now provides developers with an API to write their own plugin modules that can then be integrated into the homepage. Once you've written a module (XML with JavaScript) you then have to upload it to Google and request that they add it to the repository of available modules. (via Techcrunch)
