I also find it hard to believe that Karl is real. In the recent podcasts Karl has repeated several things that he originally said on Xfm, as if they were new. That along with the mountain of material they acknowldged they'd recycled from the Xfm shows ("We've talked about this before..").

Furthermore, it's hard to believe that Karl could take the constant abuse, being picked on by both Merchant and Gervais, being called a stupid mancy bald perfectly spherical headed idiot etc etc. The most he has even done is say "no, forget it then" when he starts talking and gets mocked.

I'm not trying to take anything away from the genius of the shows, in fact if he WERE a constructed character then it's even MORE clever, it's just that it doesn't sit quite right with me.

Still, could be wrong!

they do regurgetate old stories, but that doesn't mean that karl isn't 'real'.

You gotta remember XFM was never heard by as many people as the podcasts.

im betting 75% of the people who downloaded the podcasts hadnt even heard of Karl. so why not bring up the old classic anecdotes.

but in regards to karl not being 'real' i really, really hope he isnt a fake.

I saw Karl a few weeks back on Regents Street so i'm pretty sure he was real unless it was the old Karl riding a bike or something along those lines!

Anyway, i'm also not 100% convinced he could be as dumb as he seems but you never no, i'm sure there are many things we would think impossible until we had seen them, Karl may be just one of these 'wonders'

I know Karl Pretty well personally and I can promise you, he is real. He is playing up his persona, but he really does wonder about this stuff, and does like monkeys
