Java to go GPL
After hearing Tim Bray's keynote here in Munich on Tuesday, it is interesting to follow the news about the license Sun seems to have chosen for Java - the GPL. The official announcement is scheduled for the beginning of next week.

I suppose that this is good. At least it keeps me from distributing a VM that has lots of custom modifications and effectively forces me to use the vm that the client already has. However, it also dissuades me from going deep into the VM since all my labor is, well, forcibly free.
